Audrey Slaughter - Owner, A Roadmap for College LLC

About Audrey

I have 20+ years of educational and leadership experience. My joy is in guiding students to find their voice as they start their college journey, whenever a student is ready to begin. I am dedicated to demystifying the application process so the journey towards college is exciting and a positive experience for both the student AND their network of support. My decades of community service continue in Higher Education Consultants Association as President for 2025-26.

As college admission standards constantly change, I stay current through touring colleges and attending college admissions updates virtually every year, attending national association conferences, and collaborating with fellow educational consultants. This ensures that you and your student will be aware of the most current knowledge in the college admissions industry. I will show you how those changes could affect your admissions probability and college selection.

I completed with honors a Certificate in College and Career Counseling with Distinction from UC Berkeley. Before college advising, I earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. My marketing and business development career for over 10 years were with companies such as Imaginarium, AT&T and Macy’s. This decade of corporate experience honed my strategic thinking, communication skills, and entrepreneurial mindset.

Community service is core to why I love my career. I enjoy sharing college knowledge through leading workshops for community groups such as Girls Scouts, Boys Team Charity, National Charity League and Teen and Parent Service (TAPS). I have presented on topics such as College Knowledge 101, Teen Leadership & Communication, Effective College Essays, and Majors & Career Planning. In 2016,  I was awarded the Girl Scouts of Northern California Council’s Circle of Empowerment Award for my mentoring and coaching, and I volunteer for the Council as a member of the Gold Award Advisory committee and the Adult Awards committee.

My husband and I have lived in Northern California for over 30 years. We have two daughters who followed their individual college roadmaps to California Poly San Luis Obispo and Southern Oregon University, respectively and are happily on their own life & career paths. We still have one daughter at home (Nala - our rescue mutt) and I unwind by cooking new cuisines for friends and family!
